BBC filming in Holland / International coverage about the Netherlands

Hi!
Can you help the BBC?We are making a documentary about immigration in Holland and we would like to have the participation of some young Dutch people who feel unhappy with the large amounts of immigrants in the country. We would like to meet them when we come to film in Holland at beginning of July. We are also looking for kids that are into Lonsdale clothes! I am not exactly happy with what's going on, but I'm not racist, not into Lonsdale clothes and you won't get a story out of me which will make the world shudder and say 'today's youth'....Is it for BBC 1, 2, 3 will this be aired in Holland? Why about Holland and not the UK?

But the whole world is focused on the Netherlands, because of what happend here.
I'm just scared the Netherlands will be placed in a very negative position, just to let everybody see, it isn't to bad here (outside the NL) after all

I'm scared that it will really hit the fan when someone else is being murdered.

btw, these stories have been virtually missed on American news. The majority of Americans are clueless about the cultural clashes happening in the netherlands. Our news is filled with the war in Iraq (in which most of the stories seem to be part of a huge marketing ploy to fool us into believing that it was okay to go there) or the Michael Jackson case (stupid, useless waste of airspace). Americans tend to think that the winner of "Survivor" is more newsworthy than the struggles in other countries.

Yes, there were a few stories on the news, but they focused on him being related to Vincent Van Gogh rather than on the real reasons he was murdered. The Pim Fortuyn story had a few stories too. I get my news from NPR (National Public Radio)and from BBC World News. That has been the only place where I can be guaranteed to get a fair and balanced news report.

The fire was in November last year on a Islamic school!'Theo R.I.P.' and 'White Power' where found on the side of the Badir Islamic school.

True!If Pim Fortuyn was killed by a moslim than a riot was expected. I don't believe that here in Holland things are that different than for example Germany or France. After the murder on Theo van Gogh the nation awoke! The opinions about integration and the amount of foreigners that came in to this country were said in public. Before the murder everybody kept his or her opinion to him/herself!

I don't think it is, I live in Rotterdam, which is a big city, and here you cán tell that there's a different vibe since, well, 5 years ago..the days after Theo was murdered, you could feel the tension here, you saw people looking differently at others, especially at muslims..still now, even as I do NOT see myself as a racist, and want to make that very clear, I do walk way around a group of guys who look foreign, than I do when I see a group of Dutch kids (this is just the outside, I'm not judging how Dutch they feel)..and off course you can say it could have happend with a dutch guy as well, but it was a Morrocan guy who once beated me up untill I went knock out on the floor and kept kicking, just because i asked him if he couls stuff a sock in it because he was yelling through my french oral exams..
and it was an Arabic-looking guy who hit down a friend of mine and stole het bike from under her..I'm sorry, but those are facts as well..and I'm not a racist, and I know lot's of good guys who are arabic as well, but since I have been beaten up into the hospital I dó walk a whole way around them.. and that in my own city.. where I shouldn't bé afraid to walk..

This is one of the things that I just can't understand.
I think all of the people who were involved should be fired from their jobs. This isn't just a small mistake...this is a disaster for the Netherlands.The crazy asshole was even threatening him with a knife.

I think that's a little bit beside the truth... it's more like some people started using it as an excuse to become openly racist.
