For those who crave enough bass to make their bones shake....
For the ones who seek a DJ with bare skills as opposed to the same track over and over....
For the heads who need to reach for the lasers every time the kicks come harder....
For the masses anticipating every moment of revelationary freshness.....
DUMP! will bring you all this and more...without exception
REMARC (Planet Mu, Suburban Base, UK).
Remarc has long been hailed as one of the godfathers of jungle music. Since the early nineties he's been behind some of the most influential tunes to come out of the scene, mastering the decks and destroying dancefloors wherever he goes. Jungle, as the preceding sound of drum 'n' bass, is characterised by carefully chopped breakbeats, killer bass and a generous dose of hiphop and ragga samples. This distinctly 90's sound has since returned underground but has never gone away. Now Remarc is here once again to bring the vibes back to life. It's been a while but you're gonna have to put on your dancing shoes and get ready for the roughest of rides.
WARRIOR ONE (King Pigeon, Black Butter, Ninja Tune, UK)
Warrior One was among the first to incorporate samples and broken beats into the burgeoning UK-Funky scene. By introducing a unique twist to what is ostensibly a "house" sound, he quickly made a name for himself and has ever since remained steady at the top of many charts and favourites lists.
Via the influence of the many MC's he has worked with, his sound has shifted slightly to a rougher, grimier angle. His love for cut-up breakbeats has also lead him into the future-jungle side of electronic music. Now you will encounter a DJ that has everything in stock from house and breaks to grime and jungle. Whatever style he chooses to play, it will be hard to stand still.
12Gauge (Krypled brain, CHRONOS, MWM RECORDINGS, NL)
d/sko en zjasp-air are two talented producers from the south of the Netherlands. They go by the name of 12Gauge to emphasize the fact that they are specialized in the harder, "blow your brains out" style of dubstep. They build the type of tracks that just make you want to tear your ears off...but in a good way. It's all about the nastiness with these two. Although they always bring it with a funky melodic twist, or a cheeky sample to make you grin. Expect the filthiest and you won't be disappointed…
BOJCOT SELECTAH (sub.fm, Top Drawer, Vekta, Lomechanik, NL)
Beginning as a jungle DJ, Bojcot's progression into dubstep was a natural one. Stemming also from a garage background, it was these kind of vibes that remained prevalent in his sets. With the recent emergence of future-jungle it has been another logical step for him to jump on board and, coupled with the international recognition he has been receiving, it would seem as though he is now right at home as one of The Netherlands' leading lights in the future-jungle scene.
For this particular party Bojcot has something special planned. After the mayhem of the first acts the choice will be handed to you, the audience. In Bojcot's record bag will be complete sets in four different styles; Jungle, Garage, Dubstep and Future-Jungle. Beforehand you will be given an option to vote for the style you want with the party then closing to the sound of your liking. As far as raves go, it doesn't get more democratic than this.
Guadeloupe (DROP!/Talent!, NL)
Also known as Tony van Heemschut, this talented Utrechter will open the night with some harder 2step, Garage and UK-Bass music. Six years ago he bought his first record to get things rolling and his love for underground, electronic music made him the explorer he is today. For this night he wishes to push the bass-music in Utrecht into a more old-school direction. Do you like Keysound, DMZ and old-school Tempa releases? Then you'll enjoy his sound when it's mixed with whatever makes the crowd roar for more.
