Alva Noto
object blue's debuut EP 'Do you plan to end a siege?' werd uitgebracht door Tobago Tracks in maart 2018 met de boodschap: “I dedicate my first EP to all the women on the dancefloor”. The Rest Is Noise en FIBER presenteren object blue's eerste liveset in Nederland.
Valery Vermeulen

Frequencies of sound and light transformed into hallucinatory audiovisual experience
Seminal German sound and visual artist presents the Dutch premiere of his new audiovisual show UNIEQAV.
Alva Noto
Alva Noto is the alias of Berlin-based sound and visual artist Carsten Nicolai. Co-founder of the revered NOTON label and frequent collaborator of Ryoji Ikeda, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Mika Vainio. Nicolai’s experiments in sound and light blur the lines between music, art and science. A staunch minimalist, he strips electronic music down to its core – glitchy, synthetic frequencies, pulsating white noise and rumbling basslines.
Alva Noto’s latest project UNIEQAV channels an intricate system of codes and signals into pristine sonic sculptures that shift between techno, ambient and drone. Live, UNIEQAV echoes its source material. Illuminating scientific phenomena like sound and light frequencies, Nicolai’s accompanying video works transform UNIEQAV into a dazzling audiovisual experience.
object blue
Born and raised in Beijing, London-based DJ and producer object blue embraces a broad palette of sound and blends it into something that is distinctly her own. With a smattering of digitally manipulated R&B samples, sine waves and media glitches, her debut EP Do You Plan to End a Siege? stands out as one of the most exciting techno releases of the year. Reflecting the hyper-digital, algorithmic and fragmented environments of our own reality, object blue crafts immersive and energetic sonic worlds that will make you move.
Valery Vermeulen
In the lecture-performance, ‘Music, Math and Imagination’, Valery Vermeulen adopts the visionary works of composer Iannis Xenakis, with his theoretical physics and mathematical forms as points of departure. Vermeulen presents a journey through time, space and sound that takes you from Xenakis, through to the ruthless algorithms that govern contemporary financial markets, to the latest developments in the field of astrophysics.
Valery Vermeulen is a Belgian electronic artist and mathematician who explores how our imagination can generate artistic connections between music, math, and new technologies.
