Boiler Room, Amsterdam-based entertainment house Pi Studios and Melkweg present a very special screening of the film 'Migrant Sound' with a Q&A and afterparty.
The series Migrant Sound will be shown one-night-only in a special edit to create a unique cinema experience for you! Migrant Sound is a new documentary series from Boiler Room which seeks to explore migration in the UK. It traces the impact the Windrush generation (Caribbean migrants from the 1950s coming to Britain) had on British music culture over the past 60 years. Taking a larger look at the positive cultural impact immigration can have, the film shows how music has the power to express and transform identities. From ska to neo-soul. Acid house to first wave punk. UK drill to bashment, immigration helped shape all of these sounds.
Featuring A Guy Called Gerald, Skinny Girl Diet, Narx, Oscar #worldpeaceand many more
