James Brown said it: Get up, get down & get involved! Guest for the night is the uprising Marcel Vogel who wanted to get involved in all things music from an early age on. Compiling tapes from his mother's record collection, being addicted to Yo MTV Raps and this whole fantastic world of Hip Hop. Trying to be a B-Boy, trying to be a rapper, a poet and a writer. But he got stuck DJing and boy did he got stuck. Practice sessions forced the whole village to listen due to open windows. Marcel soon became part of a school of DIY people that are Djing, organising parties, setting up labels and releasing the music that is missing in the records stores. Now that’s a style we love. Marcel is heavily influenced by eclectic DJ's like Theo Parrish, Alex Barck (Jazzanova) and Rahaan, that gave him the organic and relaxed style of DJ-ing, for which he is known today. He’s so proud of his newest release "MoonChild" which comes out on Oct 24, the week of LOFT! If you missed Amsterdam Dance Event, this is your chance to experience what dancefloor music is all about nowadays. This will be a night full of energy at both sides of the decks.
Residents Duke Hugh, Pushin Wood & Black Dynamite Soundsystem are working with Vera Groningen to create a top quality clubnight in Holland. "Vinyl, all styles, a place where everyone comes to dance, fat sound system, the atmosphere you miss in a lot of places, cheap entry & amazing DJs".
At recent editions VERA's basement is used as a 2nd area so keep an eye out for those little stairs. And come in time to avoid the queue and get some of Grillamanyaro's food before it's all gone!
