The Berlin P.D. issued a confirmation of registration (“Anmeldebestätigung”) for our demo on 16 june. So apart from the BUND environmentalists it is the only official counter demonstration against the Love Parade.

The route is: Reinhardtstraße, Friedrichstraße, Oranienburger Straße, Monbijouplatz, Kleine Präsidenten Straße, Hackescher Markt, Neue Promenade, Spandauer Brücke, Rosenthaler Straße, Neue Schönhäuser Straße, Münzstraße, Memhardstraße, Alexanderplatz, Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, Neptunbrunnen (in front of the “Rotes Rathaus” underneath the TV-tower).

The final party will take place at the Neptunbrunnen right in the center of East Berlin until 22:00. The former announced location at the Schlossplatz is occupied by another organization. Afterwards you may join us at the Bunker Party “Love Bomb” at the TU Mensa, Hardenbergstr. 34, or at our own Free Party in a secret location in the Prenzlauer Berg district. BTW: The other event in the Max-Schmeling-Halle featuring Lenny Dee, Liza’n’Eliaz and Manu le Malin has been canceled last week, so don’t bother going there.

Our original intention was to bring gabbers together, but I’m even happier we succeeded in integrating the local scene. Be tolerant, there will be about 10 trucks on the Hateparade with various styles of x-treme music. Apart from gabber, hardcore and drum’n’bass there will be a truck by DJs from the squatted LSD-Kiez, two punk-bands and even some drummers. Panacea and Problem Child (both on Chrome Records) joined our ranks as well as EC8OR/E-de Cologne (DHR) and many gabber artists like Christoph Fringeli (Praxis Rec.), Gabba Nation, and a few others who still have to confirm (hint, hint). Careful estimations expect about 2,000-3,000 participants...



Media coverage had been excellent: Everybody seemed to hate the Love Parade, especially their press secretary Peter Lützenkirchen must be a real pain in the ass. It seemed like the Loveparade would end in chaos while the Hateparade was peaceful, strange enough... There were interviews with 10 radio stations (including Kiss FM and Fritz, stations presenting the official Love Parade – even they agree Low Spirit sucks!), 12 TV stations, and our demo was featured several times in every paper you can imagine in Berlin, several news agencies and magazines like Stern. On 10 july was another three hour radio interview on Fritz where Trauma XP met Dr. Motte – real fun! Please don’t confuse it: Some punks plan to hold the “Chaos Tage” in Berlin at the same weekend (instead of Hannover in August), and some flyers call it “Hate Parade”, too (but in two words), since they want to take cover among the ravers. Even skinheads called for attacks on “pill-eaters” and “neo-hippies”. Though we sympathize with the political left we cannot accept violence against people or things as an option. The argument “Techno is apolitical in itself cause it is instrumental” is utter bullshit, sorry. How about pirate radios playing drum’n’bass most of the time, the Spiral Tribes, illegal parties everywhere, or demonstrations like the Street Party against the prohibition of drugs in Amsterdam, the “Lärm ’97” in Frankfurt against the early closing times, or our very own? The Love Parade is mainstream, so it is non-political, trying to please the masses like any mainstream music. But come to a decent gabber party, there you will find lots of texts to scream along. So don’t generalize any music that comes out of a computer and goes like “wroom, wroom”, try to accept people got different tastes in music and be tolerant. Don’t hurt innocents.
