The Nacht Gallery forms the place where art and nightlife intersect. It provides young and promising artists with a new platform to exhibit their work and connect directly with the urban nightlife crowd, which forms an audience known to have a strong interest in contemporary art. What the Nacht Gallery intends is to create an opportunity for artists to gain experience in the presentation, promotion, budgeting and selling of their art, as well as to stimulate the interaction and networking between artists on one hand, and a potential new group of clients on the other.
In the coming show (Dag & Nacht) that will take place on 26th of June in Sugar Factory and in Rooms of RedBull
10 artists (students and graduates) from Rietveld Academy will refer to the creative basis on which this project lies: creating art works that relate to these two concepts - daytime vs nightlife environments as well as with the spaces in between.
God said, “Let there be light. And there was light! God saw that the light was good, so God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day” and the darkness “night.” There was evening, and there was morning, marking the first day.
