Dennis Ferrer and Solomun this Saturday at Pacha Ibiza

2012 Marks a decade of Ibiza residencies for Defected and a landmark 8th season at the mighty Pacha. This year however you may have noticed a bit of a difference in the line-ups. As well as the usual suspects of Bob Sinclar, Junior Jack & Kid Crème and The The Shapeshifters, a few new faces you may not immediately associate with Defected have graced the roster.

One such face is that of Solomun, the Bosnian-born Dynamic label boss who has, over the last few years, established himself as one of the driving forces in underground house. Solomun's fastidious attention to a bouncing bassline is well documented, both in his own tracks and through the records released on Dynamic. Fans of Defected will by now be more than aware of his all-conquering remix of Noir & Haze's Around, but his own discography is awash with similarly inspired musical moments, all of which make Solomun a extremely welcome guest to Defected's summer residency at Pacha.

Joining Solomun will be another underground dance hero, Dennis Ferrer. Dennis and Defected go way back. As Simon Dunmore says: 'Dennis Ferrer and Defected constantly flirt with each other. We look great together, they like being with each other but we just can't seem to commit. Personally I think we should just get on with it but for now I guess we are just occasional fuck buddies!'

The Grammy-nominated DJ and producer is one of the finest out there, and through his label Objectivity has nurtured some of the scene's most Exciting talent, including The Martinez Brothers, André Hommen and label debutant Adam Berecki, the 22 year old Dortmund resident whose Westpark Trax EP is about to drop on the imprint.

As Simon Dunmore said back at the start of the season: 'Our line-ups are the most musically diverse on Ibiza and the 2012 season reflects the full diversity of house music, our releases and our sound. We are loyal to our residents but we like to invigorate each season by introducing new and exciting talent to keep the line-ups fresh and ultimately shake things up a little.'
