Biografie
At the young age of 19, Lucas Bojakowski, aka JAKKO, is a DJ and music producer based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Through years of self-teaching himself the art of producing, JAKKO impressed and caught the eyes of the management team at 'drop.cool' in January of 2014 and was ultimately signed due to his budding potential.
The young JAKKO grew up fascinated by melodies. Encouraged by his father, a classical music lover, JAKKO grew up listening to a wide range of classical composers like Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach. It comes as no surprise that his initial interest and inspiration for making electronic music came from listening to Avicii. A mix of refined taste, passion, and hard work brought to the world a versatile, young, and incredibly promising producer with the capacity to make breathtaking melodies.
After only four months of signing with 'drop.cool', JAKKO achieved his first statement support from none other than Nicky Romero on his Protocol Radio. JAKKO's remix of Coldplay's, "Sky Full of Stars" had gone viral and was picked as 'Fresh Track of the Week'.
The following months were monumental for the young artist. Major labels like Atlantic Records, Protocol Recordings, Revealed Recordings, Sony Music, Universal Music, Code Red, Megaton, Armada Music, Enhanced Music, Big & Dirty, So Much Dada, Staar Traax and more came calling and after signing and releasing with such labels, JAKKO's status as a bonafide talent in the electronic music world seems more than legitimate. Support from peers like Hardwell, Tiesto, Dada Life, Chuckie, W&W, and more showed that his peers were quickly noticing that a rising star was in their midst.
It was September 2015 when the youngster reached his biggest milestone to date, Lucas entered the TomorrowWorld X Revealed Remix contest for a Thomas Gold ft. Bright Lights track. A few weeks later he got an unexpected email from the label with the amazing news that he would not just be releasing on Hardwell's imprint but also performing at their stage on the superfestival.
JAKKO's releases have also been causing a stir in the media world; noted dance music media outlets like Proximity, Your EDM, Dancing Astronaut, LessThan3, EDMTunes, and more have coined JAKKO the "next big thing" from Brazil and the massive amount of hype has lead to additional collaboration opportunities with artists like Ftampa, Paris & Simo, Project 46 and many others. With the help of his Brazilian booking agency, 'Plus Talent,' which reps some of the biggest dance music names on the planet, JAKKO has already played at world-renowned clubs like Green Valley, Pacha, at Tomorrowworld (Atlanta)at the Rio Music Conference, and at Lollapalooza with artists like Pharrell and Calvin Harris.
The future is bright for this talent and there seems to be no limit as to what he can do with his creative ability. Be sure to keep an eye and ear out for him in the months to come!
