VanWyck

After playing different roles in different bands singer-songwriter VanWyck released her solo debut album in 2018 at the age of 46. 'AN AVERAGE WOMAN' was hailed but the Dutch music press as one of the best releases by a native artist in years, with her smokey voice, strong lyrics and sober alt-folk craft drawing comparisons to Leonard Cohen, Nathalie Merchant and Laura Marling. Her songs reach across the borders of personal experience into existential themes: the struggle for true freedom, the longing for love and completion and the sobering realities of everyday life.
Her second album 'MOLTEN ROCK' was released in November 2019 with Concerto Records and was called 'the best Dutch album of 2019' by Dagblad van het Noorden. Veering between dark folk, lush Americana and alternative rock influences VanWyck explores the rolls we are dealt and the ones we create for ourselves.
