Biografie
Having already wowed music fans with his remixes of The Chainsmokers 'Sick Boy' and Selena Gomez & Marshmello platinum hit collaboration 'Wolves', emerging talent Owen Norton is already an accomplished producer on his own material as well. A statement backed up by the extended support for his music. Reeling off a list of elite names that include Martin Garrix, Tiësto, Dash Berlin, Yves V, Bassjackers, Ookay, Mike Williams and Don Diablo is something that's easily done when you see the feedback from artists.
At 18 years old Owen's journey in music production started 5 years ago, whilst his passion for DJing even earlier than that. Learning to mix on his dads Technics 1210's, by aged 10 Owen was already an accomplished mixer. Over the years he progressed from a cheap midi controller DJ setup to a more professional CDJ setup, whilst continually enhancing his skill set in music production. Today he has turned a passionate hobby into a way of life, one that he lives and breathes on a daily basis. When asked what led him to start producing at such an early age, Owen's feedback is: "I always felt that there is only so much you can do by playing the records of other artists. For as long as I can remember I've had melodies in my head, so it made sense that I should start putting them into the computer, and turning them into songs I can play in my sets."
The evolution of his sound has always been forward-thinking. He's never lost a love of a bold, driving club hook that is the underbelly of a record, but he's matured with his techniques and ideas. Still rooted in Progressive and Electro House, Owen's sound transcends genres as his own musical palate has grown over the years. From his first official release back in 2014 to his current releases, which regularly find him on the likes of esteemed imprints such as Atlantic Records, Columbia Records and Interscope Records, it's easy to understand his love of both that strong, identifiable club sound and the polished, more commercial feeling that his pop productions bring to his release repertoire. Little surprise than that a recent remix for the Flo Rida & Jason Derulo collaboration 'Hello Friday' as to date earned him over 1.4 million plays on Spotify and in excess of 3.5 million views on YouTube and counting.
After some time finding his sound with a cluster of high-profiled remixes and an early flurry of original releases, in which notable singles such as 'Watermelon', 'Infinity' and 'Name Me' have earned him strong support on YouTube and across various blogs, this hugely talented UK based producer/DJ has decided to plough his attention exclusively on his own material in the proceeding future. So, going forward fans can expect a slew of original records that have been the gems that have kept him locked in the studio these last few months. Shortly about to drop is the first of his 2018 original releases. From here Owen plans to set the pace on a release schedule that will see him unveiling a lot of creative output in the coming months, alongside a future touring schedule that in time will no doubt have his name climbing up international billing ladders. So stay close by because Owen Norton is about to go far and wide!
