Biografie
Antti Heikka has always been interested in music. In his early years he was much into the 50's - 70's rock, blues, funk, disco soul and jazz music. Throughout the years he's got more and more interested in electronic music and now is a huge disco, house and techno lover.
He used to be a guitar player but as the machines took over his life he's slowly forgotten it. The love towards disco has been slowly bringing the guitar back though and he seeks to use the sound of the 6-string in his future pieces.
The first time he tried making electronic music was in April 2013 when he turned 18 and got a MacBook Pro. He got two programs for making music; the other one was Ableton and the other one Logic Pro X. The one he started to work with was Logic. The reason why was because he could plug his guitar into the Mac and play with the built-in amps of the app. He didn't really get in touch with the genre he was trying to produce.
1,5 years later, in the autumn of 2014 he forced himself to learn Ableton and that's when it all started. He used to travel a lot, to The Netherlands and to Paris mostly. He got a lot of inspiration from these trips and made a song every time he would come back home.
His DJing started in 2014 as well, he went to his friends' house parties and was constantly annoyed by people playing shitty music so he decided to take over. For Christmas he got a Traktor S4 DJ controller and started to get into mixing like that.
The first time he touched a CDJ was at the official afterparty of The Aalto University's fashion students' fashion show (the 3rd best fashion school there is) in May 2015. It was only for a few songs though but still. The party was hosted by a local legendary club night called La Persé.
A few days after that night he left to The Hague, Netherlands to apply for the Royal Conservatory of Art to study Sonology. He didn't get in. After a week of Holland he left to Paris. In there he was going out a lot, every week for 5 weeks from Thursday until Sunday evening. That's where most of his influences come from. Lots of disco, lots of house, not that much techno, but enough.
When he came back to Helsinki he's DJing career went on the rise, playing (unofficially) at a boat party hosted by the major house-disco-techno club in Finland, Kaiku, and Club La Persé, and officially in the afterparty at Kaiku.
After that gig he's played in several events, both public and private, in Finland from 2015 on, and in The Netherlands from 2016 on.
